And Let FFA Season Begin!

I apologize once again for not posting anything for a while. But I have a good excuse, at least it is a good excuse in my book, but Missouri FFA season is picking up! These past two weeks have been filled with FFA, it is my favorite time of the school year. :)

The first week of March was very eventful. On Monday I had found out that I was going to receive my FFA State Degree this year. The State Degree is the highest degree the State Association can give an FFA member. Only a small percentage of members get this honor, and I was the only junior at my school this year to get it. The next day I traveled to Clinton and applied for a position on the Area llV Officer Team. There were 14 candidates present, with 9 offices available. There were several parts that affected the selection; a 30 question FFA knowledge test, Official Dress points, leadership points, and an interview in front of FFA delegates. After a long night we had the results, and I will be the 2014-2015 Area llV Vice President.

This past Tuesday we had our March FFA meeting. The meeting was finished with very quickly, but before the meeting we played an interesting game. We played cow tongue football! We thawed it out before the game, but it didn't feel slimy like most would think. The tongue was dry, as the game went on the tongue would stretch out. My team won 14-0, but not because of my amazing athletic skills, football is not one of my specialties!
Today we had no school, but we had a practice contest in Archie to prepare for Districts in two weeks. Naturally I didn't get to sleep in like other kids from my school. I am on our Ag Sales team this year; freshmen year I was on FFA Knowledge and last year I was on the Meats Evaluation team. We got back to the school around 1:30, now I am just waiting for the results! While I have been writing this post I have been updating Judging Card to see the latest scores. As a team my friends and I did very well for our first time competing, I can't wait till Districts! Our chapter's other contest teams did very well also, this may be another successful year for the Cass Career Center FFA Chapter!
These two weeks have flown by, but I am excited for the rest to follow. As usual I will update you guys when I have a chance to breathe!
Now I am not one to take selfies often, but an #ffaselfie is always acceptable in my opinion!
