So I have gotten in a bad habit of not posting on my blog, I keep using the excuse that I am too busy and I will do it tomorrow...and tomorrow never comes. I realize that tomorrow will come, but also with a new year.
This upcoming year is going to bring a lot of change for me. In a few days I will compete for the Missouri Beef Queen at the Missouri Cattlemen's' Convention. I am excited yet really nervous, I will get the chance to compete for a position to advocate for Missouri beef. I will update on how the convention went within a week (hopefully!).
This year is also my senior year, I will be graduating in May! This is scary to think about, for the past eleven years I have only imagined graduating from high school and going to college. Now it is here and I have to make the decisions that come with it. So the next three months will include cramming in as many scholarship applications as possible!
With this being my last year in high school I will start to wrap up my FFA activities. After the New Year my area officer team will hold the annual Greenhand Conference! I am excited, but this will be the start of the countdown to the Area Banquet, and the end of my area leadership experience. I have made some great friends on the officer team because of this year and I have enjoyed every minute of it!
Graduating from high school and going to college seems unreal still, but I know in August I will be moving into a dorm and will start a new chapter of my life at Missouri State. I fell in love with the agriculture department down there and I can not wait to be apart of it!
2014 has been an exciting year for me, especially in FFA and agriculture! I also got my first job last month, even though it isn't in agriculture I am learning valuable skills that I will use with an Ag Business major.
I hope you had a memorable year in 2014, and that 2015 will hold new and exciting things for you!
