I will just get you up to speed. I moved down to Missouri State University in August. This was my dream school, I have been wanting to go the MSU since I was in MAbA as a sophomore in high school. I am majoring in Agriculture Business with an emphasis in marketing and sales. My roommate was actually in MAbA with me, ironically we were roommates then as well!

Move-in day! |
These last few months have been eye-opening and exciting (will disclose in the near future!). What had hit me though was last week when my friends in FFA got to go Kentucky while I studied for a Plant Science test. Being a State Officer my roommate had the chance to go as well. I realized I was no longer in high school, and honestly I miss being in my FFA chapter. I gained confidence and leadership while in it, and it did not hit me that I would miss it until now. I am also proud of my friends who earned their American Degree this week. Only 0.5% of all FFA members will earn this honor. They have worked countless hours on their SAE's and have become involved leaders to earn this.
Four other FFA members have also worked hard and have earned praise. This past spring our chapter's Ag Mechanics team earned first place, getting the chance to compete at the National Ag Mechanics CDE during the National Convention. At Kentucky they won 4th place out of the entire nation. This team was the first from our chapter to ever get the chance to compete at National Convention, much less getting in the top four teams in the country.
I am so proud of our Ag Mechanic team, they have worked hard and deserve it! Photo by Cass Career Center FFA |
National Convention is once again over and everyone returns home. I am proud of all that my fellow FFA members have accomplished this year. I look forward to next convention, where I might have the chance to go on stage and receive my American Degree myself.
