FFA Week in Review

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple weeks, my life has been crazy with FFA. We just wrapped up FFA Week and we are getting ready to start contest teams. I will talk about that later, FFA Week is the topic of the day for me!

FFA Week was Feb. 25-22, the week of George Washington's birthday. My chapter kicked off the week by going snow tubing at Snow Creek on Feb. 14th. We didn't have school on Monday, but Tuesday was our monthly meeting. After we finished we had a movie and pizza night. Wednesday was Spirit Day and Teacher Appreciation Day. The weekend before the officers baked cookies and passed them out to the teachers at both the high school and at the Cass Career Center. For Spirit Day members wore an FFA shirt. Thursday was our annual FFA breakfast and "Dress like a Farmer" day. We serve biscuits and gravy to members before school. This year was our first time for "Dress like a Farmer" day, but it was fun. I borrowed my Grandpa's overalls and mud boots for the day. Let's just say that people who aren't in FFA were giving me strange looks!
My friend Kaitlin and I dressed up for "Dress like a Farmer" day!

On Friday we had "Drive Your Tractor to School" day, the name speaks for itself.  Members had a contest between their tractors for "Crowd Favorite", "Longest Drive", and "Largest Tractor" (in horse power). That day we also went to the Western Farm Show at the American Royal.
FFA Week was very long, I feel like I had my hand in  a little bit of everything that week. Overall it was a blast, but now I am ready for contest season! I will update you when I have more interesting things to tell!
